The Institute for Entrepreneurship (IES) at the University of Bonn was founded in August 2022 and is part of the Faculty of Agricultural, Nutritional and Engineering Sciences. The institute's vision is to promote entrepreneurial spirit throughout the University of Bonn through transfer activities, research, and teaching.
Together with the Transfer Centre enaCom and colleagues from all faculties, the IES helps to transfer knowledge and technology into the society and economy. A crucial element is raising the awareness of entrepreneurship among students at an early stage and providing them with the necessary skills to start a business. Therefore, the IES has and will establish the entrepreneurship education outside the Faculty of Agricultural, Nutritional and Engineering Sciences and thereby leverage the full start-up and transfer potential of the University of Bonn.
Led by of Prof. Dr. Denise Fischer-Kreer (Chair of Entrepreneurial Behaviour) and Prof. Dr. David Antons (Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management in Agribusiness), an interdisciplinary team offers a wide range of potential for collaboration. Please feel free to contact us – we look forward to hearing from you!

Entrepreneurial Behaviour
We lay the foundation for an entrepreneurial mindset among students and explore how entrepreneurs can make an effective contribution to sustainable transformations.
The Chair of Entrepreneurial Behaviour promotes entrepreneurial spirit throughout the University of Bonn through transfer activities, research, and teaching. The aim of the chair is to enable and encourage students to think and act entrepreneurially – whether on their own entrepreneurial journey or as changemakers in an established context.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation management in Agribusiness
We combine technology and innovation management with entrepreneurial action in the age of anthropogenic climate change.
The Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management in Agribusiness focuses on strategic, behavioural and algorithmic research questions in technology and innovation management. A particular focus is on sustainable development in agriculture and adaptation to climate change.

The Chair of Entrepreneurial Behaviour, headed by Prof. Dr. Fischer-Kreer, is dedicated to researching questions relating to entrepreneurial behaviour, particularly in the context of sustainability-oriented and regenerative entrepreneurship. One focus is on how entrepreneurs can become essential solution providers for ecological and social challenges. To do this, they look into mechanisms that let entrepreneurs and managers combine economic, social, and ecological values in their companies.
The Chair of Entrepreneurial Behaviour acts as a central hub for knowledge transfer and is a network partner in the region. We see transfer as a key area of activity alongside teaching and research, and consider the transfer of knowledge and technology to society to be an essential task. The Chair forms the interface between the Faculty of Agricultural, Nutritional and Engineering Sciences and the enaCom Transfer Centre.
